"I Survived" Book Club for Tweens
Monday, May 5th at 6:00pm
Calling all fans of the "I Survived" series! Tweens ages 10-12 are invited to join our I Survived Book Club. Join us on the first Monday of every month where we will delve into a different book from the series while enjoying snacks as well as crafts and activities based on the book selection! We will be reading "I Survived the Joplin Tornado, 2011" by Lauren Tarshis for our meeting. Join us for a discussion about the book, watch brief footage of the tornado’s impact, and dive into hands-on activities, including exploring the science of tornadoes with a DIY tornado in a jar experiment and crafting a colorful tornado safety plan collage using magazines and other materials. Participants should read or listen to the book prior to the book club meeting. If you do not finish the entire book, you are still welcome to attend the event. Come by the front desk to check out your copy of the book. If you are interested in joining our book club, please register online here.
